Bobbie Sue Revels was born and raised in Texas, where gospel and grit were part of everyday life.
Hauled to church every time the doors opened by her strict, God-fearing aunts, gospel took root in her
early. But outside those church walls, she raised herself on Mama’s country music, Daddy’s old river
ballads, and a stack of Motown records that taught her soul, rhythm, and truth.
As the years rolled on, the Beatles, the Monkees, loud guitars, and rock riffs came blasting through
tin-can speakers, mixed right in with the funny songs that always seemed to show up when she needed
them most. Comedy hooked her young—Red Skelton, Red Foxx, and a whole cast of characters
shaped her sense of humor and her storytelling long before she ever wrote a line.
She wrote her first poem at eight years old. Her mama used to tell her she needed to write a book.
“Well, Mama,” she says now, “I didn’t write a book—but I wrote everything else.”
Bobbie Sue has never claimed to be a polished or proper writer. She wasn’t meant to be. She writes the
way she lives—raw, real, unfiltered, and straight from the gut. She doesn’t shape her words around
what people think, because the truth loses its power the moment you try to please folks.
Life brought six children, each adding their own music, chaos, humor, and heart. Life brought stories
too wild to make up, heartbreak that scars deep, and moments that settle into your bones—and she
turned all of it into writing.
She has always been influenced by strong, soulful women—the kind whose laughter fills a room, whose
wisdom is earned through hardship, and whose resilience shaped her own humor and storytelling.
Their spirit still echoes in her work.
Today, Bobbie Sue Revels is a Lyricist and Director of Music—shaping not only the words, but the
emotion, pacing, tone, and full musical direction behind every piece she creates. She guides the feel,
the flow, the atmosphere, and the heart of each song, ensuring the music matches the truth in her
writing.
She doesn’t perform the songs herself; instead, she builds them from the ground up—crafting the story,
directing the musical mood, and creating songs that carry the life she has lived.
Her writing is fearless.
Her vision is intentional.
Her songs feel real because that’s exactly where they come from.
Bobbie Sue Revels isn’t chasing fame—she’s chasing truth.
And if her work hits you hard… that’s exactly how she meant it to.
